File A56-7W - Top Secret - Subject: Airwolf

Starring:

This page is presented here primarily because I used to be a fan of Airwolf - CBS' high-flying adventure series which aired on Saturday nights in the mid 1980's.

The series was built around the basic story of Stringfellow Hawke, a test-pilot for a secret government agency known only as "The FIRM" who recovered a mach-speed helicopter after it had been stolen by its designer, Dr. Charles Henry Moffet. Hawke exchanges the recovery of Airwolf for the return of his brother, St. John, an MIA from the Viet-Nam conflict. Until The FIRM can hand over St. John, Stringfellow retains Airwolf, and flies it on covert government operations.

Of course, The FIRM is conducting secret missions of their own - to recover Airwolf at any cost. Stringfellow Hawke forms a strange cat-and-mouse alliance with Michael Coldsmith Briggs III, Deputy Director of The FIRM, as he flies Airwolf for (and avoids being caught by) the Government.

Airwolf is an action-packed adventure series set in the later years of the Cold War. The high-tech helicopter is dispatched under Hawke's control to counter the constant Soviet threat, capture or kill drug lords, and bring a special kind of justice to those who do wrong.

Rumors of a re-creation of Airwolf as a new series or a motion picture have so far been without substance. Jan-Michael Vincent and Ernest Borgnine continue to pursue careers in acting, while Alex Cord and Jean-Bruce Scott have taken different directions with their own lives.
